If you need a laptop with higher performance for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, the Dell G15 5520 with its dedicated Nvidia graphics card is the better choice, but it is larger and heavier, making it less portable. In contrast, the Dell XPS 13 Plus is more portable and offers a higher-resolution OLED touchscreen, which is ideal for general use, and it has a longer battery life. It's also more expensive, but its smaller size and lower weight make it an option worth considering for everyday carry and general productivity. Both have good build and keyboard quality, but the G15's gaming-centric design might not be suitable if you're looking for a laptop with a professional appearance. Give Feedback

The Dell XPS 13 Plus has a better screen than the Dell G15 5520 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Dell G15 5520 likely has a screen that's sharp and bright enough for daily tasks and professional design work, ensuring clear images and vivid colors within typical color spaces used by engineers and designers. The Dell XPS 13 Plus probably boasts a superior display with higher resolution and broader color coverage, providing extra fidelity and color accuracy for the most demanding design applications. However, for gaming and 3D applications where fast motion is common, neither laptop excels due to their screens' lower refresh rates, which can lead to less smooth visuals in fast-paced scenes.

How the Dell G15 5520 and the Dell XPS 13 Plus compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
"The XPS 13 Plus is powerful, but has its drawbacks. Dell did not only update the processor generation, but also decided to offer two completely different models from now on. The XPS 13 Plus gets the faster Intel Alder Lake-P chips, and the Core i7-1260P in our review unit offers good performance figures. However, the device once again shows the problems of the current Intel CPUs, because the high performance requires a lot of power. This affects the battery runtime as well as temperatures, so the new model (even with the Optimized power profile) is louder than the older model."
