Given your needs, if portability is important, the ASUS Zenbook 14X with its lighter weight and smaller screen could be a better fit, along with an OLED display offering vibrant colors. However, if gaming or heavy 3D work is your focus, the Lenovo Legion Slim 7's RTX 3060 graphics, higher refresh rate screen, and extra processing power will serve you better, albeit with a bit more weight to carry. Both laptops are similarly equipped with storage and memory, and if you prefer longer battery life, the Lenovo edges forward, but at the cost of a less colorful display compared to the ASUS. The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" is good for gaming and AI, while the ASUS Zenbook 14X is only fair.
The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is better suited for gaming and 3D because it has the Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card, which is more powerful than the Nvidia MX550 in the ASUS Zenbook 14X, and it also boasts a higher screen refresh rate, which is crucial for smoother gaming experiences. While both laptops have good quality displays, the higher refresh rate of the Lenovo enhances gaming and 3D applications, despite it having a lower resolution compared to the ASUS's OLED screen.

The ASUS Zenbook 14X has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 for general use, and engineering and design, while the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 has a better screen for gaming and AI.
Considering the needs of general users, the ASUS Zenbook 14X likely offers a sharp, bright display with a high resolution, which makes for a clearer and more vibrant viewing experience in everyday tasks, while the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 provides a solid display but may not be quite as rich in detail or brightness. For engineering and design professionals, the Zenbook's ability to display a wide range of colors accurately is important for precision in visual work, as it likely covers more of the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB spectrums compared to the Lenovo Legion Slim. In contrast, for gamers and those working with 3D applications, the lower refresh rates on both laptops may result in less fluid motion, but the Lenovo Legion Slim's potentially higher refresh rate, although still not optimal, might offer a slightly better experience for action-oriented tasks.

How the ASUS Zenbook 14X and the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 15.6" compare to other laptops
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 is a slim Legion notebook that is just as excellent with Nvidia & Intel. However, the Legion Slim 7i slightly sullied by lacklustre battery life. You get a slim aluminium chassis, great input devices, decent port selection, fast high-quality WQXGA display and great performance. Supporting Thunderbolt 4 is one advantage of the Intel/Nvidia model tested in this review. Moreover, this variant has slightly higher CPU performance as well as better GPU performance in certain applications (e.g. CUDA-based apps). The Lenovo Legion S7i is thin, premium and performant – but less efficient than its AMD counterpart."
