If you prioritize performance during intensive engineering tasks and are looking for a laptop with a larger high-resolution screen and longer battery life, the Gigabyte Aero 16 is a strong choice, although it is more expensive and less portable. Alternatively, the ASUS Zenbook 14X is better for general use, offers good performance, and is more portable due to its lighter weight and smaller size, plus it comes at a somewhat lower price. However, it has less storage capacity and a shorter battery life. Both have high-quality OLED displays, but the Aero 16 provides slightly better color coverage and brightness. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Sebastian Jentsch | April 2022
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."

Tom's Hardware

Isaac Rouse | May 2022
"The Gigabyte Aero 16 is a workstation laptop for light gaming. It's design is still muted, with a silver chassis alongside a black keyboard and trackpad that provides some contrast. The Gigabyte Aero’s full-size chiclet-style keyboard is enjoyable to type on thanks to its snappy feel and responsiveness. The 4K+ AMOLED display is good, but it could be better. It doesn’t handle true black very well and suffers from strong reflections and glare. The Gigabyte Aero excels at productivity performance and can keep up with other gaming laptops in 1080p. But it has very few ports and its refresh rate leaves a bit to be desired."
