Choosing between the ASUS Zenbook 13 and the HP EliteBook 845 G9 will depend mainly on the balance you seek between performance, display quality, portability, and price. The ASUS typically costs more and comes with an OLED screen, which provides vibrant colors and deep blacks for an impressive visual experience. In contrast, the HP has an IPS screen with a higher resolution and aspect ratio, offering more screen real estate that can be valuable for productivity tasks. Performance-wise, the two laptops are likely similar, but the HP includes more RAM, which can be beneficial for multitasking and more demanding tasks. The ASUS is lighter and thinner, making it more portable, while the HP's slightly larger size and higher weight might impact its portability but may also suggest a more robust build. Additionally, the ASUS is equipped with an older Ryzen 7 5700U processor, compared to the HP's more recent Ryzen 5 6650U. The HP also comes with a slightly better battery capacity, which may translate to longer use between charges. Operating systems differ as well, with the ASUS running Windows 10 Home, and the HP with Windows 11 Pro—a newer version that may offer enhanced features and better security. In summary, go for the ASUS if you prefer a more portable device with a standout display and don't mind spending a bit extra, whereas the HP could be a better option if you prioritize a larger, higher-resolution screen, more RAM, and potentially better battery life for a somewhat lower price. Keep in mind the potential advantages of the newer operating system and processor with the HP, which could offer better future-proofing. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Sebastian Bade | May 2021
"The Asus ZenBook 13 is a compact 13-inch laptop with a fast Ryzen 7 5800U and OLED display. The subnotebook is also light and the modern design is convincing. The selection of high-quality materials make the device not only light, but also very stable. In addition, the visuals and haptics of the device offers a high-quality impression. The AMD Ryzen 7 5800U is a very good fit for the ZenBook 13, ensuring a high performance in the test. However, in terms of the 3D performance, we also notice that the Vega architecture is beginning to hit its limits."

NotebookCheck

Sebastian Jentsch | July 2022
"The high-end version of the HP EliteBook 845 G9 with a Ryzen 9 PRO 6950HS, 32GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD packs a lot of power, but is still quiet and cool enough to operate in noise-sensitive environments. Quiet, cool and drawing on a massive 40 watts from the APU at the same time, however, is not possible. The 14-incher only has a single-fan solution and it only just manages to keep an near unthrottled Ryzen 9 in check."
