For better performance during intensive tasks such as 3D modeling, machine learning, or gaming, you will find the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" more suitable due to its more powerful processor and graphics. However, if portability is a significant concern, the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 is lighter and has a smaller screen size, making it easier to carry around. The Lenovo has a touch screen and a higher quality webcam which might be beneficial for video calls or interactive tasks. Both laptops offer similar battery life for typical use, but the Lenovo is more expensive while the ASUS is more budget-friendly. If your priority is general use with a balance of price and portability, the ASUS might be the better choice, otherwise, for higher performance and features like a touchscreen, the Lenovo could serve you better. The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is good for general use, while the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook Go 14, while lightweight and portable, has a less powerful CPU and less RAM than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15", which means it could struggle with multitasking and more intensive tasks. The IdeaPad not only has a stronger performance but also offers better screen quality and longer battery life, making it a more reliable choice for everyday activities, although it is a bit larger and less portable.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair for engineering and design, while the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook Go 14 has lower performance due to a less robust CPU, less RAM, and a weaker GPU than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15", making it less suitable for demanding engineering and design tasks. While both have similar screen sizes and quality, the Lenovo's slight edge in screen brightness and CPU power contributes to its fair suitability for these tasks, as opposed to the ASUS's poor performance in this area.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 for general use, content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Vivobook Go 14 and Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" both offer screens that are adequate for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming due to their decent resolution and brightness, but they don't stand out for their display quality. For engineering and design professionals, the color accuracy is critical; however, these models may not meet the high standards required for precise color work since they lack extensive color gamut coverage. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, which demand smooth motion and sharp details, the lower refresh rates and moderate resolution of both laptops may not provide the most immersive or responsive experience.

How the ASUS Vivobook Go 14 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" compare to other laptops
"The lack of a backlit keyboard in this price segment shouldn't sway the buyer the other way. However, it still comes down to user preference. The Vivobook Go 14 is a decent laptop in an extremely competitive price segment. A few omissions are a part of the balancing to reach the price segment. The Asus Vivobook Go 14 is a rare find when it comes to the price to performance ratio."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
