Choosing between the ASUS Vivobook 16X and the Lenovo Legion 5 15" mainly depends on your preferences for display and form factor. The Vivobook has a larger 16-inch screen with a taller aspect ratio, which can be good for productivity, whereas the Legion has a sharper display with a higher refresh rate, which is excellent for gaming. If you prioritize portability, the lighter Vivobook is a more travel-friendly option. But, if you value gaming performance and battery life, the Legion provides a more immersive experience with a higher refresh rate and likely superior battery life. Both have similar hardware in terms of processing and graphics power, so for tasks like 3D work or engineering, either would serve well, but the Legion's higher resolution and refresh rate might give it an edge in visual detail. The ASUS Vivobook 16X has a better screen than the Lenovo Legion 5 15" for content creation, while the Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X's screen offers good clarity and comfortable viewing angles for general tasks and sufficient color accuracy for engineering and design work, but it lacks the high refresh rate preferred for smooth gaming and 3D modeling. The Lenovo Legion 5 15" boasts a brighter and sharper display, enhancing the experience for everyday use and providing decent color fidelity for creative professionals, but like the Vivobook, it falls short for gaming due to its lower refresh rate. Both laptops will serve well in productivity and professional environments, but avid gamers and 3D artists may find the screens less than ideal for their high-refresh-rate needs.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16X and the Lenovo Legion 5 15" compare to other laptops
"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
