If you're looking for higher performance for tasks like engineering, 3D rendering, or even gaming, the ASUS Vivobook 16X is the better choice due to its more powerful processor and graphics card. However, it comes at a higher price and a shorter battery life than the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17". The IdeaPad offers a larger screen and longer battery life, suitable for general use and media consumption, and it's more affordable, but it won't handle intensive tasks as well. The Vivobook is less portable due to its smaller battery but has features that cater to more demanding applications. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook 16X is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" is only fair.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X is better suited for gaming and 3D applications due to its powerful Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU and higher screen refresh rate of 120 Hz, which enables smoother motion and is especially beneficial for fast-paced games. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 3's integrated AMD Ryzen 5 5625U Vega 7 graphics and standard 60 Hz screen refresh rate deliver a fair performance that is acceptable for less demanding gaming and 3D tasks but may not handle intensive graphics as effectively.

For general use, the ASUS Vivobook 16X and Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" offer clear and vibrant displays with sufficient resolution and brightness, which makes text sharp and colors pop, enhancing the overall viewing experience. In engineering and design, both laptops provide a wide color range, covering more of the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB spectrums, ensuring that professionals see accurate colors and gradients for their work. However, for Gaming and 3D applications, these laptops fall short due to lower refresh rates, which can lead to less fluid motion, though their adequate resolution and panel technology are acceptable for entry-level users.

How the ASUS Vivobook 16X and the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" compare to other laptops
"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17" defies expectations. Indeed, it is just a minor upgrade over last year. However, this doesn’t make the laptop any less terrific. It’s got a great performance, courtesy of the Ryzen 5x25U processors. In addition, you get a pretty good battery life. Perhaps, the 2-hour decrease in video playback, compared to last year is not great, but still, 10 hours of Web browsing and 7 hours of video playback is okay for 17-inch notebooks."
