If price is a primary concern and your computing needs are basic, such as web browsing, document editing, and media consumption, the ASUS Vivobook 15 might be sufficient. However, if you need higher performance for tasks such as advanced graphics work, gaming, or intensive multitasking, and you value a more premium build and better display quality, the LG Ultra 16 could be worth the higher cost. Remember, higher performance often means shorter battery life, so if you need a laptop that lasts longer on a single charge and is more portable, the ASUS could have an advantage, assuming it has a lower power consumption. Additionally, consider the weight and size: smaller and lighter laptops like the ASUS are more convenient for travel, whereas larger models like the LG Ultra may offer a better keyboard and screen experience but are less portable. The LG Ultra 16 has a better screen than the ASUS Vivobook 15 for content creation, and software development.
The ASUS Vivobook 15 and LG Ultra 16 both have screen specifications that cater to common tasks and some professional work, due to their adequate resolution and brightness, which offer a decent visual experience for day-to-day computing and tasks that don't require high color fidelity. However, for professionals in engineering and design, screens with limited coverage of color gamuts such as DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB may not provide the color accuracy necessary for precision work. When it comes to gaming and 3D work, both laptops may fall short for enthusiasts looking for a fluid visual experience, as they don't have high refresh rates that can make fast-paced visuals appear smoother and more immersive.

How the ASUS Vivobook 15 and the LG Ultra 16 compare to other laptops
"The Asus VivoBook 15 is a quiet office notebook with a strong screen. However, the VivoBook 15 still has room for improvement. Office and internet applications as well as simple games do not pose any major challenges for the VivoBook - this is ensured by the built-in combination of Ryzen 7 5700U APU and 16 GB of RAM. Heat and noise emissions are acceptable. But, the laptop has weaknesses that should not be present at this level: lack of keyboard lighting, a slow memory card reader, no fast USB-C port (USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Thunderbolt 4) with Power Delivery and DisplayPort. Battery runtimes can only be described as average."
"Unlike the gram, the Ultra PC isn't designed to be as lightweight as possible. The 16-inch laptop is a whole 400 g (0.88 lb) heavier than its 16-inch gram counterpart partly because its chassis is not made of magnesium. Other than that, the Ultra PC seems like a copy of the gram – but with longer battery life, lower noise levels, and a clean, delicate look."
