The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is a more budget-friendly option, providing decent performance with an Intel i5 processor and Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti graphics card for daily tasks and moderate gaming. If price is a concern and your tasks are more general, go for the ASUS, but for top-tier performance in engineering, 3D design, machine learning, and gaming, choose the Razer Blade, assuming you're okay with the higher cost and reduced portability. The Razer Blade 18 is very good for gaming and AI, while the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is only fair.
The Razer Blade 18 offers superior gaming and 3D capabilities primarily due to its more powerful GPU, the Nvidia RTX 4070, and a higher screen refresh rate of 240, compared to the ASUS TUF Gaming F17's less advanced Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti GPU and lower 144 refresh rate. Additionally, the Razer's higher-resolution display and aspect ratio contribute to better screen quality, complementing its top-tier performance for demanding tasks.

The Razer Blade 18 outperforms the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 for engineering and design due to its superior main processor, higher RAM capacity, and more powerful GPU, leading to better overall performance and screen quality that are crucial in such tasks. While both laptops have commendable build quality, the Razer Blade 18 also has a higher quality keyboard and better speaker quality, but it is less portable and likely has a higher operating noise compared to the more modest ASUS TUF Gaming F17.

The Razer Blade 18 has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 offers a balance of clarity and brightness suitable for everyday tasks, while the Razer Blade 18 provides a sharper image and better brightness, enhancing visuals and readability. In engineering and design, the Razer Blade 18 stands out with a wider color range, presenting more accurate colors crucial for detailed work, compared to the ASUS which has a more limited color palette. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rate on both the Razer Blade 18 and ASUS TUF Gaming F17 means less fluid motion and slower screen updates, which might diminish the gaming experience.

"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
"Razer made a powerful laptop in the Blade 18, showing off a beautiful and fast display and the same high-quality build we’ve come to expect from this product line. It’s also quite expensive, which is hardly a surprise, but bears repeating even in this price range. It’s pricier than the Scar 18 despite an inferior GPU and half the storage, so you really have to want the Blade 18’s design to justify the cost."
