The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is less expensive and may offer better value if your needs are gaming and general use on a budget. Its battery life is modest, and it's reasonably portable considering its size. It has a lower-tier processor and less powerful graphics than the MSI Raider GE78, so it's less suited for very intensive tasks. The MSI Raider GE78, on the other hand, is much more expensive but it comes with a high-end processor and top-tier graphics, which makes it suitable for the most demanding applications, including intensive engineering work, 3D rendering, and machine learning. It also boasts better battery life and overall performance scores, but it's heavier, which reduces portability. If maximum performance and future-proofing are top priorities and cost is not a major concern, the MSI would be the better option. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When considering a laptop for general use, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 offers an adequate display with satisfactory resolution and brightness, but might not be the best in terms of color accuracy or vibrancy compared to the MSI Raider GE78, which provides a sharper, brighter, and more color-accurate screen. The MSI Raider GE78 has a display that is more suited for engineering and design due to its wide color gamuts, rendering it highly capable of producing precise and vivid colors necessary for professional work. However, both the ASUS and MSI models have displays with lower refresh rates, which can reduce the smoothness and responsiveness needed for a good gaming and 3D rendering experience, making them less ideal for these specific activities.

"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
