When considering the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 versus the HP Pavilion 15, recognize that the ASUS will likely offer better performance for gaming and intensive tasks due to its gaming-focused hardware, but this comes with a higher price tag. The HP Pavilion 15, on the other hand, may be more affordable and could still be suitable for general use and less demanding tasks. The larger size and potentially shorter battery life of the ASUS might affect portability, whereas the HP is likely to be more portable and potentially have longer battery life, making it better for on-the-go use. Your decision should weigh how crucial advanced gaming performance is against the importance of portability and cost savings. Give Feedback

The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 and HP Pavilion 15 are both only fair for gaming and AI, though the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is somewhat better.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is fair for gaming and 3D because it offers a potent Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti graphics card and a high screen refresh rate of 144Hz, which is beneficial for smooth visuals in fast-paced games. In comparison, the HP Pavilion 15 has a more modest integrated Intel UHD Graphics and a lower screen refresh rate of 60Hz, resulting in less fluid gameplay but potentially at a lower price point.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 has a better screen than the HP Pavilion 15 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
If you prioritize a clear and vibrant display for everyday tasks, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17's better resolution and brightness offer a more pleasant experience than the HP Pavilion 15. However, for engineering and design work where color accuracy is crucial, the ASUS's fair screen falls short due to its limited color gamut, which is less of an issue for general use. When it comes to 3D uses or gaming, where smooth motion is key, the lower refresh rate of the ASUS makes it less suitable than alternatives designed specifically for those purposes, despite its decent panel type and resolution.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 and the HP Pavilion 15 compare to other laptops
"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
"The HP Pavilion 15 carries a fair amount of power and a sharp display in its handsome slimline shell. It's not perfect, but it's a hard worker. This is wonderfully designed and totes a heck of a lot of desktop power, with the added benefit of a decent webcam and a full-sized keyboard. If you're getting down to business on a budget, it's a great fit."
