The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is more budget-friendly and offers a larger screen, which can be beneficial for general use and gaming, plus it includes a number pad on the keyboard, but it's also heavier and has a less powerful processor and graphics card, making it less suitable for very intensive tasks like 3D rendering or advanced engineering applications. In contrast, the Gigabyte Aorus 15X is more expensive but comes with a higher resolution display, more powerful hardware suited for intensive gaming and productivity, and a significantly better battery life, but with a smaller screen size and a heavier power brick, reducing its portability. "One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 15X is a strong showing of Raptor Lake and RTX 4000 series. While the Aorus had trouble keeping up in older games like Grand Theft Auto V, it nudged past the competition in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It also flexed its next-generation muscle in Far Cry 6 and Borderlands 3. While we were impressed with the overall build quality and design of the Aorus 15X, the keyboard lacked good tactile feedback. The display performed well in real-world testing despite its on-paper shortcoming with brightness, but the speakers are lackluster at best."
