If you prioritize stronger graphics and a bit more memory for running demanding tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, the Gigabyte A7 with its better GPU and additional RAM is the better choice, especially for engineering work. However, for general use and considering factors like portability and battery life, both laptops are very similar, so the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 should suffice and may save you money. Both have a gaming laptop appearance, so neither is particularly suited for a premium business look but are capable of intensive gaming. Keep in mind that neither of these options is extremely portable due to their larger screen sizes and weights. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte A7 has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F17 offers adequate brightness, resolution, and panel type for everyday tasks and visibility, which suffices for general use, but the limited color gamut reduces its effectiveness for color-sensitive engineering and design work, and its modest refresh rate compromises the smooth visuals demanded by gaming and 3D applications. The Gigabyte A7, with similar general use capabilities, also provides a wider color coverage, appealing to engineering and design professionals who require accurate color representation. However, like the ASUS, the A7's refresh rate is not optimal for the high frame rates preferred in gaming and 3D rendering, leading to less fluid motion and possibly a less immersive experience.
The Gigabyte A7 and ASUS TUF Gaming F17 are both good for general use.
The Gigabyte A7 outperforms the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 in general use primarily because it has a more powerful CPU and double the RAM, which significantly boosts multitasking and overall speed for everyday tasks. While both laptops have similar portability issues and relatively short battery life, the Gigabyte A7 also offers a brighter screen with better color coverage, contributing to a higher quality visual experience for general use.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 and the Gigabyte A7 compare to other laptops
"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
"In terms of looks, the Gigabyte A7 X1 is certainly not a trendy, slim, and ultra-mobile gaming laptop. But it does what it's supposed to do, namely bringing games smoothly onto the screen, very well. Both the processor and the GeForce RTX 3070 are able to unleash their performance without restrictions thanks to the well-ventilated case. The Gigabyte A7 X1 brings modern games smoothly onto the screen and offers excellent maintenance options."
