The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is a more budget-friendly choice with good performance for general use and gaming. It is lighter and thus more portable, has a respectable battery life, and includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. The MSI Raider GE77Hx, on the other hand, offers superior performance for engineering and 3D/machine learning tasks due to its more powerful hardware. It has a larger, higher-resolution screen which might be better for detailed tasks but comes with reduced portability and weighs more. The Raider also has a higher build quality and better heat management but at a higher price. If portability and price are key concerns, the ASUS might be more suited for you, while the MSI is geared towards those who need top-notch performance and large, high-quality displays for intensive tasks and can manage a higher cost and less portability. The MSI Raider GE77Hx has a better screen than the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15's display offers a balance of resolution and brightness that meets everyday needs, while the MSI Raider GE77Hx's superior panel type enhances visibility and clarity. In engineering and design, the MSI's wider color gamuts provide more accurate color representation, critical for detailed work, whereas the ASUS's screen may not render colors as precisely. However, for 3D and gaming, the lower refresh rates on both laptops mean less fluid motion and responsiveness, although the MSI's resolution and panel quality still offer an advantage for other visually intensive tasks.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and the MSI Raider GE77Hx compare to other laptops
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
"The MSI Raider GE77 offers a lot of power for a lot of money. The main components consist of a Core i9-12900HX CPU, a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU (175 watts TGP, 16 GB VRAM), and 64 GB of RAM, which makes for a high overall performance level. The GeForce GPU in particular scores some of the highest scores we have seen from this chip. Both the CPU and the GPU are able to run at continuously high clock speeds. The relatively high heat and noise emissions match our expectations for this device class. With approximately 5.5 to 6.5 hours, the battery life is good for a powerful 4K laptop."
