Engineering & Design:
4.5
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is equipped with a high-performance Intel i7 CPU and Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU, complemented by substantial RAM, which makes it highly capable for demanding engineering and design tasks requiring computational power and graphics processing. Its screen quality, while not the highest, supports these tasks adequately, though it is less portable due to its build and components aimed at performance over mobility.
Gaming & AI:
4.4
PerfectRec’s Gaming and AI Score strongly emphasizes graphics processing capability as well as AI performance, while also taking into account other factors that impact suitability for gaming and AI work. While performance (especially graphics performance) is the most important factor determining this score, we also give modest weight to screen quality, heat management, keyboard quality, and storage.
General Use:
4.3
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is equipped with a strong CPU and ample RAM, ensuring smooth performance for everyday tasks, while its IPS screen offers good color accuracy and viewing angles for a pleasing visual experience. Although quite portable, its moderate battery life may limit mobility for extended use without charging, but it remains a solid choice for general use due to its capable hardware and quality display.
Content Creation:
4.3
PerfectRec’s Content Creation Score takes into account the many different features of the laptop that make it more or less suitable for photo editing, and video editing work. In addition to a strong emphasis on overall performance, this score also places very high importance on screen quality. Heat management, storage, keyboard and speaker quality are also incorporated, with fan noise rounding out this score.

Portability:
4.0
PerfectRec’s portability rating takes into account the volume and thickness of the laptop as well as its weight.

The general use screen score is based on the screen technology, contrast ratio, resolution, brightness, color gamut and color accuracy. This score does not take into account specialized display features for specific use cases, such as high refresh rate for gaming.
Keyboard Quality:
4.0
The Keyboard Quality score is based on the PerfectRec experts’ assessment of tactile feedback, typing comfort, keyboard reliability and typing noise.
Operating Noise:
3.8
PerfectRec’s Operating Noise Score is based on fan noise measurements. Laptops with a fanless design, such as Macbooks, receive the maximum score.

Allen Ngo | March 2022
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
