The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 offers higher performance suitable for intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering tasks due to a more powerful processor and graphics card. However, it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less portable than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i. The IdeaPad Slim 5i, on the other hand, is lighter with longer battery life and hence better for general use and portability, though its lower-tier processor and integrated graphics are less suited for demanding tasks. If you prioritize gaming or high-performance tasks and don't mind the extra weight and shorter battery life, the ASUS might be the better choice; if you're more concerned with portability and battery for everyday tasks, the Lenovo would be more appropriate. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i is only fair.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15, with its Nvidia RTX 4070 graphics and high screen refresh rate of 144Hz, is better equipped for gaming and 3D rendering, offering smoother visuals and more graphical power than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i, which uses integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics and has a lower 60Hz screen refresh rate. While it may suffice for less demanding games, the IdeaPad's GPU and screen aren't as capable for intensive gaming and 3D tasks.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
For general use, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15’s screen provides vivid colors and crisp images essential for everyday tasks due to a higher resolution and panel type that offers good contrast and brightness. However, for engineering and design, the F15's display covers a wider color gamut, making it suitable for tasks requiring color accuracy. Yet, its lower refresh rate might not be ideal for 3D applications and gaming, where fluid motion and quick screen updates are crucial for an immersive experience.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5i compare to other laptops
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
"The device is made for average work loads and if your work has a lot to do with online browsing, using apps that are not power-hungry and streaming videos. The looks are really good and the device in itself is not a heavy one. And with Intel 11th-gen Core processor, you might sail through most of your work without complaints."
