The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is a midrange gaming laptop with high performance for 3D rendering, engineering, and gaming, featuring a robust GPU and CPU, but it's heavier and less portable. The Dell XPS 13 is more portable, lighter, and better suited for business and general use with a longer battery life but lacks the gaming-grade GPU, making it less optimal for intensive tasks like engineering or high-end graphics work. If mobility and battery life are your top priorities, and your tasks are generally less demanding, consider the Dell XPS 13, while if you need high performance for demanding tasks and gaming, and don't mind carrying a heavier laptop, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 would be more appropriate. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is very good for engineering and design, while the Dell XPS 13 is good.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 stands out for engineering and design use with a high-performance CPU, plenty of RAM, and a dedicated GPU, which makes it well-suited for demanding tasks, but it's less portable and has louder operating noise than the Dell XPS 13, which offers a very sharp screen and is more portable with better speakers, yet its integrated GPU is less capable for intensive design software. Both have comparable RAM and high-quality screens, but the ASUS provides more power for engineering simulations and graphics-intensive work, while the Dell balances performance and premium features in a more compact package.

The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 has a better screen than the Dell XPS 13 for gaming and AI, while the Dell XPS 13 has a better screen for general use, and engineering and design.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15, while suitable for a range of applications, may not offer the best screen experience for gaming and 3D due to a lower refresh rate; however, its display properties suffice for general and engineering tasks, meeting needs for resolution and brightness. The Dell XPS 13 shines in engineering and design with a high-resolution screen that reproduces colors accurately, covering a wide color gamut, but for gaming and 3D, the lack of a high refresh rate hampers its performance. For general use, both laptops are competent with their respective display clarity and brightness levels, making for comfortable everyday use.

How the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and the Dell XPS 13 compare to other laptops
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
"In the past, the XPS 13 was a hands-down contender for the best laptop on the market. But the Apple-silicon MacBook has since barrelled onto the scene, and it wipes the floor with most of the ultraportable Windows laptops that cross my desk on a daily basis. This XPS is no exception. Compared to the M2 MacBook Air, battery life is worse."
