The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is a premium choice for gaming and intensive tasks like 3D rendering and machine learning, thanks to its powerful graphics card and processor, along with a high-refresh-rate screen; however, it's heavy and has less battery life, making it less portable. On the other hand, the LG Ultra 16, which is more affordable and lightweight with significantly longer battery life, is suitable for general use and can handle some engineering applications, but it doesn't have the same level of performance for intensive gaming or 3D tasks due to its integrated graphics. The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a better screen than the LG Ultra 16 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 has a display that offers vibrant colors and sharp resolution, making it pleasant for everyday tasks and suitable for detailed engineering work, but its lower refresh rate compared to gaming-specific models may affect the smoothness in fast-paced games or 3D applications. The LG Ultra 16 provides adequate resolution and sufficient brightness for daily activities and engineering software, but lacks the wide color gamut needed for precise color work. For gaming and 3D rendering, both laptops fall short due to their refresh rates which are critical for fluid motion, although the ASUS might have a slight edge in panel quality.

How the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and the LG Ultra 16 compare to other laptops
"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"Unlike the gram, the Ultra PC isn't designed to be as lightweight as possible. The 16-inch laptop is a whole 400 g (0.88 lb) heavier than its 16-inch gram counterpart partly because its chassis is not made of magnesium. Other than that, the Ultra PC seems like a copy of the gram – but with longer battery life, lower noise levels, and a clean, delicate look."
