The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is a considerable choice for high-end gaming and intensive tasks such as 3D rendering and machine learning, offering a robust processor, superior graphics card, and higher refresh rate display, which all contribute to better performance. However, it is more expensive, heavier, and has less battery life, making it less suitable for portability. On the other hand, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is more affordable and has a larger screen size which can be great for gaming and general use, but it has a less powerful processor, graphics card, and lower refresh rate display, impacting performance in demanding tasks. Its battery life is shorter, and despite being larger, it is only marginally heavier than the Strix Scar 15. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 and ASUS TUF Gaming F17 are both good for general use, though the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is somewhat better.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is better for general use due to its more powerful Intel i9 processor, higher RAM, and superior screen quality that includes better brightness and color space coverage, which contribute to a more vivid and responsive display. In contrast, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17, despite having a larger screen size which could be more immersive for media consumption, falls short because of its less capable Intel i5 processor, lower RAM, and a display with limited color accuracy and brightness, making it less suited for tasks requiring high performance and color precision. Both laptops are relatively similar in portability despite the Strix's higher battery capacity, due to their substantial build and similar weights, which are heavy compared to ultra-portable models; this factor, alongside their gaming-oriented design which may not appeal to all users, should also be considered.

The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is very good for gaming and AI, while the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 is better equipped for gaming and 3D applications thanks to its higher-tier Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU and a substantially higher screen refresh rate, providing smoother visuals and potentially giving gamers an edge. In comparison, the ASUS TUF Gaming F17 has a lower-tier RTX 3050 Ti GPU and a less impressive refresh rate, resulting in fair gaming performance, although it may still offer decent quality for less demanding games.

"Asus continues to refine the ROG Strix Scar lineup with new upgrades. The Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 offers almost everything you would expect from a gaming laptop at this price. The build quality is great, connectivity options are decent, and there is enough scope for internal upgrades as well. Asus reverts to membrane switches for the keyboard — though not as "clickety" as the opto-mechanical ones we saw with last year's model, they still make for a decent typing and gaming experience. The lack of biometrics in any form is a downer."
"One of the Asus TUF Gaming F17’s highlights is without a doubt its excellent gaming performance. The fact that Asus configured the RTX 3060 GPU for its specified maximum of 140 W is became immediately noticeable in our benchmarks. For a 17-inch notebook the F17 also offers a very long battery life, which makes it somewhat portable. On the flip side is the display. It may be saved by its good overall contrast ratio, but its overall brightness is simply too low, and its response times are too slow for a gaming device. The F17’s successor needs to improve upon this."
