The ASUS ROG Strix G18 offers high performance suitable for gaming, 3D modeling, and intensive engineering tasks but comes with a higher price and less portability due to its size and weight. The HP Victus 15, while more affordable and portable, provides moderate performance that works well for general use and some light gaming or engineering applications, but may not handle demanding tasks as smoothly. Battery life also tends to be better in less powerful laptops, so the HP Victus 15 may last longer on a charge compared to the high-performance ASUS. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 (2024) is very good for general use, while the HP Victus 15 is good.
The ASUS ROG Strix G18, with a higher-end CPU and more RAM, handles intensive tasks and multitasking more smoothly than the HP Victus 15, making it excellent for general use that may include demanding applications; however, its larger screen and typically less battery life make it less portable. While the HP Victus 15 offers sufficient performance for everyday activities, its lighter weight and potentially longer battery life provide better portability for on-the-go use, at the cost of lower screen quality and less raw computing power compared to the ASUS.

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 (2024) is very good for gaming and AI, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix G18 boasts a more powerful GPU and a higher screen refresh rate, which are crucial for smooth and detailed gameplay and 3D rendering, while the HP Victus 15 has less graphical power and a lower refresh rate, making it adequate but not exceptional for demanding gaming and 3D tasks. Additionally, although the CPU and screen quality on both laptops are suitable for many activities, the ASUS has an edge for the very important gaming and 3D aspects, justifying its higher price point for enthusiasts in those areas.

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 (2024) is excellent for engineering and design, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix G18 is equipped with a high-performance CPU, abundant RAM, and a superior GPU, which together with its exceptional screen quality, makes it excellent for demanding engineering tasks and design work. However, the HP Victus 15, while still good for engineering and design due to capable hardware, trades off some performance for better portability and reduced operating noise, and also comes with a quality keyboard and speakers.

The ASUS ROG Strix G18 has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix G18 has a high-resolution display with vibrant colors and brightness, making it ideal for tasks such as browsing and video streaming, which benefit from these characteristics. For engineering and design work that relies on color accuracy and a wide range of colors, the ASUS offers a panel that covers a broad spectrum, essential for professionals in those fields. However, despite its high visual quality, it has a lower refresh rate, which is less optimal for gaming and 3D applications that require smooth motion and rapid frame changes.

"With the ROG Strix G18, Asus has made an almost consistently good debut in the still quite new 18-inch laptop segment. The base unit case shows a few signs of weakness in the area of stability and is something which has an effect on the perceived quality of the input devices (the chassis tends to rattle a bit). Nevertheless, thanks to generous port features (incl. Thunderbolt 4), a striking design, and extensive lighting (keyboard, LED strip on the front), gamers get a fitting gaming platform."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
