The ASUS ROG Strix G18 offers high performance for intensive tasks such as 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming due to its advanced processor and graphics card, but it's less portable because of its weight and larger size. It's costlier but also has better heat management and higher refresh rate for smooth visuals. Meanwhile, the HP Spectre x360 is more affordable and portable with a lighter build and better battery life, perfect for general use; it also includes a touchscreen with high pixel density but it's less suitable for demanding engineering applications or gaming due to its integrated graphics. Both have similar storage and RAM, although only the ASUS includes hardware ray tracing and DLSS which are important for advanced graphics tasks. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | March 2023
"With the ROG Strix G18, Asus has made an almost consistently good debut in the still quite new 18-inch laptop segment. The base unit case shows a few signs of weakness in the area of stability and is something which has an effect on the perceived quality of the input devices (the chassis tends to rattle a bit). Nevertheless, thanks to generous port features (incl. Thunderbolt 4), a striking design, and extensive lighting (keyboard, LED strip on the front), gamers get a fitting gaming platform."

PCMag

Eric Grevstad | August 2022
"As we said, Lenovo's Yoga 9i is a tough competitor to the Spectre with an equally admirable OLED display. We're sad that neither of them has an HDMI port nor a niche or slot to hold the stylus, though the HP wins points for its bundled mini docking station and magnetically attached pen. Your choice will come down to screen shape—and in our eyes, just as seeing an OLED screen spoils you for an IPS panel, enjoying a tall 3:2 display spoils you for a more conventional view. The HP Spectre x360 13.5 is our new favorite 2-in-1."
