If you're looking for high performance for gaming or demanding applications, the ASUS ROG Strix G17, although pricier, offers superior graphics and faster processing. However, it's larger and heavier, which means less portability. The Lenovo ThinkPad T14, on the other hand, is more budget-friendly and lightweight, making it ideal for general use and business applications, with the added benefit of being easier to carry around. Additionally, the ThinkPad's build quality and keyboard are often preferred for productivity tasks, but it may not handle intensive tasks as well as the ASUS. Give Feedback

The ThinkPad also tends to have a better keyboard and build quality aimed at business users, alongside a screen well-suited for a variety of tasks, yet for heavy computational needs or gaming, the ASUS would be the better performer.

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design, while the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 has a better screen for content creation.
When considering screen quality for general use, the ASUS ROG Strix G17 stands out with its crisp resolution and high brightness which enhance visibility and clarity, while the Lenovo ThinkPad T14, with slightly lower brightness, still provides a clear and sharp image suitable for everyday tasks. For engineering and design, the ASUS again excels with its wider color gamuts, offering vivid and accurate colors necessary for detailed work, whereas the ThinkPad T14 offers respectable color fidelity that's adequate for most professional needs. However, for gaming and 3D applications, the high refresh rate needed for smooth visuals is lacking on the ASUS, making it less ideal for these activities, while the Lenovo shares this shortfall, prioritizing other display qualities over gaming performance.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"We like a lot about this laptop. It has many ports, with the inclusion of RJ45-Ethernet as a defining feature. WWAN is upgradable for maximum flexibility and the ThinkPad has many security functions. Working with the ThinkPad input devices is a lot of fun, and Lenovo puts in a serviceable Low Power panel. The AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 7840U delivers a great performance and does not drain the battery fast. Fan noise and temperatures are nothing special, but also far away from bad. With the user replaceable keyboard, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 4 has a special feature rarely present on most modern laptops."
