The ASUS ROG Strix G17 is significantly more expensive and offers high performance, suited for intense gaming, 3D modeling, and engineering tasks with its advanced processor and graphics card. It's less portable due to its larger size and weight. Meanwhile, the HP Envy x360 15" is much more affordable and offers good performance for general use with a modest processor and integrated graphics. It's also highly portable with a smaller screen and lighter weight, and features a touch screen. Choose the ASUS if performance for demanding tasks is a priority and the HP if you value affordability and portability for everyday tasks. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the HP Envy x360 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers a high-resolution display and bright panel, providing a crisp and clear visual experience for general use and detailed visuals crucial for engineering and design, but its lower refresh rate reduces the smoothness needed for optimal gaming and 3D work. The HP Envy x360's screen has moderate brightness and resolution, adequately serving everyday tasks and some engineering software, but lacks the wide color gamuts for high-end design precision. The HP's screen also falls short for gaming and 3D tasks due to the standard refresh rate, which can't match the fluid motion display that dedicated gaming laptops offer.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the HP Envy x360 15" compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"Despite its good looks, stellar webcam and comfortable keyboard, the Envy x360 15 is hard to recommend because of its dim, 16:9 display. If the display isn't an issue for you, just be sure to wait for a good sale price. Otherwise, a more modern two-in-one with a 16:10 display such as the Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 or Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 provides a larger workspace without adding much to the size and weight of the system."
