Choosing between the HP Envy x360 15" and MSI Modern 14 depends on your priorities. If you prefer a larger screen and longer battery life for tasks like browsing and multimedia, the HP Envy might suit you, plus it's a 2-in-1 with a touchscreen. On the other hand, if you require more storage and memory which are crucial for multitasking and complex applications, and you value a more portable and lightweight laptop, the MSI Modern 14 would be beneficial. Both have the same processor and integrated graphics, which means similar performance for general use and light gaming, but neither is ideal for heavy 3D work or intensive gaming. Give Feedback

The MSI Modern 14 has a better screen than the HP Envy x360 15" for general use, and engineering and design.
For general use, both the HP Envy x360 and MSI Modern 14 offer suitable screen resolution, panel types, and brightness, but they may not stand out when compared to higher-end displays with exceptional clarity and brightness. In engineering and design, their screens provide accurate enough colors but lack the wider color gamuts found in specialized monitors, which can be critical for precise color work. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, both laptops have slower refresh rates, leading to less fluid visuals, a drawback for fast-paced games and smooth 3D rendering where higher refresh rates are beneficial.

The MSI Modern 14 and HP Envy x360 15" are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The HP Envy x360 15" has a capable but not top-tier GPU and a standard screen refresh rate, which provides a decent gaming and 3D experience, but the screen quality and CPU performance are also factors to consider for overall smoothness and clarity. On the other hand, the MSI Modern 14 has similar GPU restrictions for high-end gaming and 3D work, and while it also offers a standard refresh rate with a fine screen quality and CPU, it may not handle more demanding tasks as effectively.

How the HP Envy x360 15" and the MSI Modern 14 compare to other laptops
"Despite its good looks, stellar webcam and comfortable keyboard, the Envy x360 15 is hard to recommend because of its dim, 16:9 display. If the display isn't an issue for you, just be sure to wait for a good sale price. Otherwise, a more modern two-in-one with a 16:10 display such as the Dell Inspiron 16 2-in-1 or Lenovo Yoga 7i 16 provides a larger workspace without adding much to the size and weight of the system."
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
