The ASUS ROG Strix G17 offers high performance, especially for 3D rendering, machine learning, and gaming due to its powerful CPU and GPU; however, it is less portable and has a reduced battery life. Conversely, the ASUS Zenbook 14X is lighter, more portable with longer battery life, and has an excellent screen for general use and engineering, but it has less storage and a less powerful GPU, making it less suitable for intensive gaming or demanding computational tasks. So, if portability and battery life are your priority, and your tasks are generally less demanding, the Zenbook 14X is a great choice. If you require top performance for demanding tasks and gaming, the ROG Strix G17 is preferable despite being heavier and pricier. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G17 has a better screen than the ASUS Zenbook 14X for gaming and AI, software development, and content creation, while the ASUS Zenbook 14X has a better screen for general use, and engineering and design.
The ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the ASUS Zenbook 14X both have high-resolution, bright displays with excellent color accuracy, making them ideal for general use and professional engineering and design tasks, where details and true-to-life colors are paramount. However, for gaming and 3D applications, they fall short due to their lower refresh rates, which can lead to less fluid motion and slower response times compared to laptops with faster screens. While both of these laptops excel in visual clarity and vibrancy, serious gamers or 3D professionals may seek devices tailored to their needs, which prioritize smooth gameplay and rapid frame transitions.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G17 and the ASUS Zenbook 14X compare to other laptops
"The Asus ROG Strix G17 is an attractive but unbalanced gaming laptop. Its potent AMD Ryzen 9 processor excels in 1080p gaming, but playing at 1440p leaves the middling GeForce RTX 4060 GPU shouldering most of the burden. The display is exceptionally colorful, which is handy for content creators, but since this is a gaming laptop it would be better served with improved HDR capabilities. If battery life isn't a priority, the Strix G17 could serve as a designer by day and a gamer by night."
"With the Zenbook 14X, Asus has a 14-incher in its range that is - mostly - a joy to use. First, there is the colorful OLED panel with 3K resolution that displays the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces. The Zenbook is also at the forefront in terms of workmanship, input devices and connections with 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports and a generous keyboard layout. A pleasure to use, the Zenbook 14X is a solid, very well-built subnotebook that sits well on the table. A runtime of five hours, however, is below average for a high-end subnotebook nowadays. The OLED screensaver causes increased power consumption when in idle mode."
