If you prioritize high performance for gaming or demanding tasks like 3D modeling and are willing to invest more, the ASUS ROG Strix would serve you well, albeit with less portability due to its likely heavier build and shorter battery life. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad is more budget-friendly and suitable for general use, offering greater portability and likely longer battery life, but it won't perform as well for intensive tasks. Consider how and where you'll use the laptop and if your typical applications are worth the higher price of the ASUS. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 (2024) is very good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair.
The ASUS ROG Strix G16 boasts a more powerful CPU, ample RAM, and a high-quality GPU, which are crucial for demanding engineering tasks and running complex software, along with a superior screen for detailed work, whereas the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" offers modest performance that handles basic tasks but might struggle with more intensive engineering applications. Despite the IdeaPad being lighter and more convenient to carry, the ROG Strix's advanced hardware and better display make it a preferable choice for professional engineering work, though it may sacrifice some portability and be noisier under load.

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
High screen resolution and brightness enhance the ASUS ROG Strix G16's display, making it vibrant and clear for general use and engineering tasks that require accurate colors, but its lower refresh rate impacts the smoothness needed in gaming and 3D work. The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15", with fair resolution and brightness, offers adequate display quality for everyday tasks and some engineering work, though it lacks the advanced color ranges professionals might need. For gaming and 3D, the IdeaPad's limitations in refresh rate, resolution, and panel technology lead to a less favorable experience.

"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
