The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) is a higher-end option with strong performance for general use, 3D modeling, machine learning, and engineering tasks. It has a high-quality display, excellent build, and good battery life but is more expensive and may be less portable due to its weight. The Gateway 14.1" is more budget-friendly, lighter, and thus more portable, but has lower performance which might not be suitable for intensive applications. Its display and build quality may not match the MacBook Pro. Consider the MacBook Pro if high performance and quality are priorities, or the Gateway if budget and portability are more important. The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) is good for general use, while the Gateway 14.1" is poor.
The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2022) offers a powerful Apple M2 CPU and 8GB RAM which provide smooth performance for various tasks, while its high-quality IPS screen with superior brightness and color coverage ensures a better visual experience; additionally, with up to 20 hours of battery life and lightweight design, it's highly portable. In contrast, the Gateway 14.1" has a less capable Intel Celeron CPU and half the RAM which can result in slower processing, and its lower-resolution screen with poor color representation might not be as visually pleasing, paired with only 8 hours of battery life which would demand more frequent charging.

The Apple MacBook Pro 13 has a better screen than the Gateway 14.1" for general use, AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Apple MacBook Pro 13's higher resolution and brightness, along with its superior panel technology, ensures crisp and vibrant visuals for general use and detail-oriented tasks like engineering and design, complemented by wide color gamuts that make colors more accurate and vivid. The Gateway 14.1", while offering fair screen quality, may fall short in brightness and resolution, which can impact the sharpness and clarity for both general use and specialized work, and it likely doesn't match the MacBook's color accuracy. For 3D applications, the MacBook Pro falls behind due to its lower refresh rate, which is crucial for smooth rendering of fast-moving images, an area where even a fair quality display with a higher refresh rate would perform better.

"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
"The Gateway Ultra Slim 14" is surprisingly quiet with long battery life. The inexpensive Gateway excels at maximizing performance per dollar with lots of RAM and storage, super-quiet fan, and a long battery life. It can even house up to two M.2 SSDs which we weren't expecting from such a cheap system. However, the iffy reliability of the keyboard and USB-C port on our test unit means users should double-check for these potential issues immediately after purchasing."
