The Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2020) is known for its sleek design, high-quality Retina display, solid build quality, and a reliable operating system suited for professionals in creative fields, programmers, and general users who prefer macOS. It offers good battery life and portability but comes with a premium price tag. On the other hand, the Lenovo Legion 5 15" leans towards gamers and users needing higher processing power for tasks like 3D rendering or machine learning, with its superior graphics card and larger screen size. However, it's generally heavier and may not have as long battery life as the MacBook Pro, making it less portable. If your priority is portability and you are embedded in the Apple ecosystem or prefer macOS, the MacBook Pro may be worth the extra cost. If you're looking for performance, particularly for gaming or intensive tasks, and don't mind a bulkier laptop with possibly shorter battery life, the Lenovo Legion 5 would be the better economic choice. NotebookCheck

Andreas Osthoff | June 2022
"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."

NotebookCheck

Andreas Osthoff | September 2021
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
