The Apple MacBook Air 15 may be more expensive but offers a superior screen quality, better battery life, and is very lightweight and portable, making it great for travel and general use like browsing and media consumption; it runs macOS, which might be preferred if you use other Apple products. The HP Envy 17 provides more storage space and memory at a lower price and is suitable for more intensive tasks with its more powerful processor; it's heavier and has a shorter battery life, but it includes a touchscreen, which could be useful for certain applications or preferences; it runs Windows, which could be more familiar or necessary for certain software. Both are not primarily designed for intensive gaming. Choose based on which aspects—price, performance, portability, battery life, operating system—are most critical for your needs. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Air 15 has a better screen than the HP Envy 17 for general use, AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Apple MacBook Air's screen boasts high resolution and bright, accurate colors, making it suitable for general use and visually demanding tasks like engineering and design, where color accuracy (in terms of DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB) is crucial. However, its relatively lower refresh rate may not be well-suited for 3D applications that benefit from smoother visuals for animation or modeling. The HP Envy 17 offers good quality for general use and engineering with sufficient resolution and color reproduction, but it similarly falls short for gaming and 3D due to a less optimal refresh rate.

How the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) and the HP Envy 17 compare to other laptops
"The Apple MacBook Air 15 is boringly good. The new MacBook Air 15 is a very good, but also boring device, because apart from the larger screen and the higher price, there are no differences compared to the smaller MacBook Air M2 from last year. No new processor, no additional ports, just the usual basic hardware - but the overall package is extremely good and it simply works. Above all, the lack of fans is an aspect that should not be underestimated in everyday use. In our opinion, the Air could be a lot better, but Apple goes easy on itself here."
"In our test, the HP Envy 17-cr0079ng presents itself as a balanced multimedia laptop. Thanks to its solid CPU performance and dedicated entry-level GeForce, it can also be used for playing video games, as long as the demands aren't too high. Those looking for more can find it in the Dell XPS 17 for example."
