For general use, the Acer Swift X provides a good balance of performance, battery life, and portability, making it suitable for everyday tasks and some light gaming or design work. It's slightly more expensive, lighter, and offers a higher resolution, better color accuracy, and longer battery life. However, if performance is a priority and you engage in more intensive gaming, 3D modeling, or video editing, the ASUS TUF Gaming F15, despite being a bit heavier and having a shorter battery life, offers a more powerful GPU, a higher refresh rate screen for smoother visuals, and better performance for demanding applications; it is also slightly less expensive and has a gaming laptop appearance that may not appeal to all users. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Swift X (2022) is good.
The ASUS TUF Gaming F15, with its powerful Intel i7 processor, more robust Nvidia RTX 4070 GPU, and higher screen refresh rate, offers enhanced performance for engineering and design applications that may involve 3D rendering or data-intensive tasks compared to the Acer Swift X, which, while also capable with its Intel i7 CPU and Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU, prioritizes a balance between performance and portability with a higher resolution screen but a lower refresh rate and a lighter build. The TUF Gaming F15's larger battery may contribute to better performance sustainability, but results in a heavier device which, along with its potent hardware, could lead to more noticeable operating noise, making the Swift X a potentially quieter and more portable option.

How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
