If you prioritize performance for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or gaming, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 with its more powerful graphics card would serve you well but it's heavier and less portable than the Acer Swift X. The Acer Swift X offers a balance of portability and performance, suitable for general use and some engineering tasks, and has a longer battery life, making it a good choice if you're often on the move. Both are at a similar price point with comparable storage and RAM, but the Swift X is slightly lighter and has a better battery life, whereas the ROG Strix G16 excels in more demanding applications. Similarly, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 also offers good color accuracy for professional work and a crisp, bright display for general use. However, both laptops fall short for gaming and 3D applications due to their lower refresh rates, which means less smooth visuals in fast-paced scenarios where this is crucial.

How the Acer Swift X (2022) and the ASUS ROG Strix G16 compare to other laptops
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
