The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is better suited for gaming and 3D tasks due to its higher refresh rate display and newer graphics card. On the other hand, the Gigabyte Aero 16 offers more storage and a higher resolution OLED screen, which means better colors and contrast, making it ideal for creative work like video editing or professional graphic design. The Aero 16 is slightly lighter and has a longer battery life, improving its portability. Both laptops have similar performance capabilities for general use and engineering, but if gaming or content creation is a primary focus, consider the strengths of each: refresh rate and GPU for gaming on the ASUS, and screen quality and color accuracy for creative work on the Gigabyte. The Gigabyte Aero 16 has a better screen than the ASUS ROG Strix G16 for general use, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, a laptop with a bright, high-resolution display makes text sharp and images vibrant, which is why the ASUS is good and the Gigabyte Aero 16 is very good; the latter's superior brightness and resolution enhance everyday viewing. The engineering and design field demands accurate color representation; thus, the excellent color gamut coverage of the Aero 16 outshines the ASUS, making it better suited for professional graphic work. However, for 3D applications and gaming, a high refresh rate is crucial for smooth motion and responsiveness; since both the ASUS and Gigabyte Aero 16 have poor refresh rates, they're less ideal for these uses despite their other screen qualities.

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is equipped with a high-refresh-rate IPS display and a powerful CPU, making it responsive for various tasks, but with a relatively bulkier build and shorter battery life, it isn't the most portable. Contrarily, the Gigabyte Aero 16 offers a high-resolution OLED screen and exceptional storage capacity, favoring those who prioritize screen quality and storage space, but it may compromise on gaming performance due to a less powerful GPU compared to the ASUS.

How the ASUS ROG Strix G16 and the Gigabyte Aero 16 compare to other laptops
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
"The Gigabyte Aero 16 is a workstation laptop for light gaming. It's design is still muted, with a silver chassis alongside a black keyboard and trackpad that provides some contrast. The Gigabyte Aero’s full-size chiclet-style keyboard is enjoyable to type on thanks to its snappy feel and responsiveness. The 4K+ AMOLED display is good, but it could be better. It doesn’t handle true black very well and suffers from strong reflections and glare. The Gigabyte Aero excels at productivity performance and can keep up with other gaming laptops in 1080p. But it has very few ports and its refresh rate leaves a bit to be desired."
