The Acer Swift 3 is more budget-friendly and lightweight, making it ideal for general use and carrying around, and comes with more RAM for efficient multitasking. On the other hand, the HP Victus 15, while slightly heavier and pricier, offers stronger graphics performance with its dedicated graphics card, better suited for gaming and graphics-intensive tasks. The HP also has a larger screen with a higher refresh rate, which may be preferred for entertainment and detailed work, but you'll have to deal with lower portability and shorter battery life compared to the Acer Swift 3. The Acer Swift 3 has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for engineering and design, software development, and content creation, while the HP Victus 15 has a better screen for gaming and AI.
The Acer Swift 3 has a display with sufficient resolution and brightness, making it suitable for general tasks, while its panel type ensures clear and vivid imagery necessary for engineering and design work, yet it lacks the high refresh rate crucial for smooth 3D and gaming experiences. The HP Victus 15 also offers a good resolution and brightness for everyday activities, but its color reproduction may not fully satisfy professional engineering and design standards due to less coverage of professional color gamuts. Similarly, the HP Victus 15 does not meet the high refresh rate demands for optimal 3D and gaming performance, where fast-paced visuals are essential.

The HP Victus 15 and Acer Swift 3 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Acer Swift 3, with its integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU, is less suitable for gaming and 3D applications compared to dedicated graphics options, and its standard 60Hz screen refresh rate may not deliver as fluid gaming visuals as higher rates. In contrast, the HP Victus 15 boasts a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU and a much higher 144Hz screen refresh rate, promising better gaming and 3D performance, but with a less powerful CPU and lower screen pixel density which could affect overall performance and image clarity respectively.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the HP Victus 15 compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
