When comparing the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED with the HP Victus 15, consider the following: the ASUS offers an OLED screen with higher resolution, making it superior for vibrant and sharp visuals, which is important if you value screen quality for tasks like photo editing. It’s also slightly lighter and more compact, enhancing portability for frequent travel. In contrast, the HP Victus 15 packs a separate graphics card, which provides better performance for 3D work, machine learning, and gaming. However, it's heavier, affecting portability, and has a lower resolution screen, which might not be as visually pleasing as the ASUS. Battery life varies, with the ASUS likely lasting longer on a charge, so if you’re often away from power sources, this could be a deciding factor. Ultimately, if you need stronger graphics performance and don’t mind a bit of extra weight, the HP may be suitable, but for superior portability and screen quality, the ASUS is a strong contender, not to mention it's often less expensive. The ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED is good for engineering and design, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED is favored for engineering and design due to its high screen quality, featuring an OLED display with high brightness and color coverage, complemented by a capable processor and integrated graphics suitable for less graphically-intensive tasks. The HP Victus 15, while also good for engineering and design, leans towards a balance between performance and gaming with a dedicated Nvidia GPU for demanding graphics work, but with a lower-resolution IPS screen. Both have adequate CPU and RAM for engineering tasks, but the ASUS offers better portability and screen quality while the HP provides stronger graphic performance.

The ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED boasts an OLED panel, which offers vibrant colors and deep blacks, contributing to a superior viewing experience for general use and engineering tasks that demand color accuracy. However, its typical refresh rate is lower than what gamers seek, which makes it less suited for gaming and 3D applications that benefit from quicker screen responses. On the other hand, the HP Victus 15, while providing adequate brightness and resolution for everyday tasks, may fall short in color precision for professional design work and also lacks the high refresh rate desired for smooth gameplay in 3D environments.

The ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED and HP Victus 15 are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED and the HP Victus 15 are both considered fair for gaming and 3D because they feature GPUs that can handle gaming to some extent, but aren't top-of-the-line for the most demanding games or 3D applications. While the ASUS has a high screen refresh rate and quality OLED display which is great for immersive visuals, the HP Victus comes with an Nvidia RTX 3050 which, despite a lower quality screen, offers a dedicated graphics card that's better suited for more intensive gaming and 3D tasks.

How the ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED and the HP Victus 15 compare to other laptops
"While one of the more budget-friendly configurations of the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED may make a compelling case as a top value pick, it’s difficult to be disappointed with the more expensive model we reviewed here. At its core, for all models, it’s a luxury-built laptop with extreme portability and a gorgeous OLED display. Our unit rocks with a snappy Core i9 processor for getting real work done, and the discrete GPU—even if it has a clear power ceiling—is a bonus for creative pros."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
