The Acer Swift 3 is more affordable and offers better portability with a lighter weight and longer battery life, making it suitable for general use and daily tasks with its efficient processor and touchscreen display. The ASUS ROG Strix G16, though more expensive, provides superior performance with a more powerful processor and dedicated gaming graphics card, a higher refresh rate screen, and features aimed at intensive gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering tasks. However, it is heavier and has a shorter battery life, making it less ideal for frequent travel. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Swift 3 is only fair.
The Acer Swift 3, with its integrated GPU and lower screen refresh rate, provides an adequate experience for gaming and 3D applications, whereas the ASUS ROG Strix G16, which is equipped with a dedicated Nvidia GPU and a higher screen refresh rate, offers a more advanced gaming and 3D performance. While the Acer is lighter and has better battery life, making it more portable, the ASUS offers enhanced gaming capabilities but is heavier and has a shorter battery life, reflecting a tradeoff between portability and high-performance gaming suitability.

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Swift 3 is good.
The Acer Swift 3 is a good choice for engineering and design due to its adequate CPU (Intel i5), ample RAM, integrated graphics, and a full HD touchscreen, balancing performance with better portability at a lighter weight. In contrast, the ASUS ROG Strix G16 offers superior performance with a higher-end CPU (Intel i7), advanced dedicated graphics card (Nvidia RTX 4060), and a higher-resolution, larger screen, which makes it very suitable for more demanding engineering and design tasks, albeit with reduced portability due to its larger size and heavier weight.

The ASUS ROG Strix G16 has a better screen than the Acer Swift 3 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
When choosing between the Acer Swift 3 and the ASUS ROG Strix G16 for general use, consider that a higher resolution, panel type, and brightness can lead to clearer text and more vibrant images, making both laptops suitable. For engineering and design tasks, accurate color representation matters, so if both have similar coverage of color gamuts like DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, they'll both provide the needed fidelity for detailed work. However, if you're into 3D and gaming, a laptop with a higher refresh rate will offer smoother motion and responsiveness, which could make the ASUS ROG Strix G16 a better fit if it has a superior refresh rate compared to the Acer Swift 3.

How the Acer Swift 3 and the ASUS ROG Strix G16 compare to other laptops
"With the Swift 3, Acer delivers a 14-inch laptop with a sleek, slim metal chassis. The latter is of high quality and sturdy enough for everyday use, which is a real plus point among the 700-Euro (~$798) models. A new feature is Thunderbolt 4 in the Type-C format for peripherals or even displays (DisplayPort via Type-C). Unfortunately, a card reader is still missing, and the RAM is completely onboard, so there are no upgrade options here. Acer's 14-incher is affordable, yet it does everything most would want from a truly mobile laptop: Long battery life, a great display, quality, sufficient ports, light weight, and low noise and heat emissions."
"With the mobile Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080, the Asus ROG Stix G16 hits the sweet spot between performance and cooling. The G16 also does not have to shy away from direct comparison with its supposedly stronger family member, the ROG Strix Scar 18 with its RTX 4090, as most benchmarks of the two laptops are very close to each other. Moreover, the G16 should be significantly cheaper. Depending on the supplier, the price difference here could be almost US$ 2,000. In the 2023 model series, Asus has significantly leveled out the differences between the two high-end lines."
