The Acer Nitro 5 is usually less expensive and suited for general use and gaming, with a solid performance. However, it has less storage, a less powerful processor, and a lower capacity battery compared to the ASUS TUF Gaming F15. The ASUS, while more expensive, offers double the storage, a higher performing processor for tasks like 3D modeling, machine learning, and intensive engineering software, and boasts a larger battery for extended use between charges. While both have similar display features, the ASUS's build quality and performance are designed for more demanding applications. If portability is a concern, the ASUS is also slightly lighter. Both have full gaming capabilities, so if cost is less of a concern and you're focused on higher performance and storage, the ASUS is the better choice, whereas for a balance of price and capability, you might lean toward the Acer Nitro 5. How the Acer Nitro 5 15 and the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 5 is a fast QHD gaming notebook. The Nitro 5 is a well-balanced gaming laptop for just under US$ 2400. A Core i7-12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU enable QHD gaming at high to maximum settings, accompanied by fast PCIe-4-SSD (1 TB) and 16 GB of RAM. Acer delivers a solid QHD gaming notebook with the Nitro 5 AN515-58. However, the laptop is not completely free of shortcomings. The CPU and GPU can work at consistently high clock rates. The laptop heats up noticeably under load, but not excessively. Noise development is on the usual class level. Once again, however, Acer needs to improve the fan control."
"Aside from all the chassis updates, the new TUF Gaming is most notable for its much higher TGP target of 140 W compared to only 95 W on the previous generation. PC makers everywhere are using the same GeForce GPUs this year since Nvidia has yet to launch the successor to the mobile RTX 3000 series. The more demanding processors of the new TUF Gaming has directly impacted battery life and the size of the AC adapter. Don't expect runtimes to be longer than on the previous generation under most conditions and be prepared to carry around an even larger AC adapter than before."
