The Acer Nitro 17 is designed for high performance, especially in gaming or heavy-duty tasks, due to more powerful hardware and likely better graphics capabilities. However, this may come at the expense of battery life and portability, as gaming laptops tend to be heavier and consume more power. On the other hand, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is probably more suited for general use with a focus on portability and longer battery life due to its less powerful components, making it easier to carry around. If budget is a consideration, the Lenovo IdeaPad is typically more affordable but won't handle demanding software as effectively as the Acer Nitro. Choose the Acer Nitro 17 for performance-intensive tasks and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use and mobility. Give Feedback

The Acer Nitro 17 is good for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair.
The Acer Nitro 17 is equipped with a Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU and offers a high refresh rate of 165Hz, making it well-suited for gaming and 3D applications, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" utilizes the integrated AMD Vega 8 graphics and has a standard refresh rate of 60Hz, which is less optimal for gaming and 3D tasks. Moreover, the Acer's better GPU and screen refresh rate could contribute to more fluid and visually responsive gameplay compared to the Lenovo, which prioritizes other features like touch capability and portability.

The Acer Nitro 17 is good for engineering and design, while the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is only fair.
The Acer Nitro 17 is equipped with a more powerful processor, more RAM, and a higher-end dedicated graphics card which are essential for demanding engineering and design tasks, plus it has a larger, high-refresh-rate screen that benefits visual clarity and work on detailed projects. On the contrary, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 with its decent processor and integrated graphics, while passable for moderate tasks, will fall short under heavy workloads, and despite its better portability and battery life, its smaller screen and lower screen fidelity might limit its effectiveness in demanding engineering and design scenarios.

The Acer Nitro 17 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and content creation.
The Acer Nitro 17 offers a higher resolution and better brightness, making text and images crisp and vibrant for general use and detailed enough for engineering and design tasks, but its lower refresh rate can hinder the smoothness desired in gaming and 3D applications. The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" provides adequate resolution and acceptable brightness for daily activities and casual design work, though it may lack the color range professionals need and also falls short in gaming due to an ordinary refresh rate. Both laptops won’t satisfy gamers or 3D designers looking for fluid motion and rapid screen updates, crucial for a competitive and immersive experience.

How the Acer Nitro 17 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" compare to other laptops
"The Acer Nitro 17 isn't an exceptional gaming laptop; it's kind of chunky even among 17.3-inch notebooks, with a lackluster keyboard, and it doesn't outperform comparably priced machines. But there's a lot to like about it, including a good array of ports, a screen that's sharp and bright for work and play alike, and battery life that soundly beats the competition. All this comes at an affordable price. If size and weight aren't big concerns, you'll find the Nitro 17 a dependable big-screen gaming rig. If you crave higher quality, consider a slight step down or up in screen size with the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 or Alienware m18 respectively."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
