If you prioritize gaming and tasks such as 3D modeling and engineering software, the Dell G15 5520 has a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics card to deliver better performance for those activities. However, it's also heavier, which might make it less convenient to carry around. In contrast, the Acer Aspire Vero 15 is lighter and slightly better for general use, everyday tasks, but offers lower performance for intensive tasks due to its integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. The Dell also offers a higher refresh rate, beneficial for fast-paced games, and more storage space, while the Acer is somewhat less expensive and has slightly longer battery life for typical use. The Dell G15 5520 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire Vero 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Aspire Vero 15's fair screen quality is adequate because most users need a screen that offers comfortable viewing with decent resolution and brightness, but it falls short in color accuracy and range, which isn't critical for everyday tasks. Engineers and designers may find the Vero's display lacking due to its limited color gamuts, which means it doesn't display the full spectrum of colors required for precise design work. Gamers and professionals using 3D applications on the Acer would struggle with the poor screen quality because the low refresh rate can lead to less fluid visuals, and the screen's modest resolution and panel type do not provide the clarity or the vividness needed for immersive gaming and detailed 3D modeling.

How the Acer Aspire Vero 15 and the Dell G15 5520 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire Vero is an eco-friendly Windows 11 laptop. Made with PCR plastic, the Acer Aspire Vero stands out from the midrange laptop pack with a funky, eco-friendly design. Powering Microsoft’s latest operating system is a Core i7 chip from Intel’s latest series, integrated Intel Xe graphics, and an ample 16GB of RAM. The laptop feels snappy, but its battery life disappoints. I also have a few quibbles with the display and keyboard, but they’re relatively minor. With a longer runtime, the Aspire Vero would earn a stronger recommendation for students or anyone looking for an eco-friendly, big-screen laptop."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | April 2023
"The Dell G15 (2022) is a 15.6-inch budget gaming laptop, and is great for gaming. You can configure the laptop with powerful Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and various NVIDIA dedicated GPUs, all of which deliver a smooth gaming experience at 1080p. There's also a QHD 240Hz display option if you want better visuals, though you'll have to pair it with the top-end NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti to get good frame rates. It doesn't get overly hot or loud under load, and there's no noticeable throttling on the CPU or GPU. Unfortunately, the 120Hz panel has a slow response time, causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate."
