The Acer Aspire 5 17 is less expensive and offers good battery life, making it suitable for general use with its decent performance. It’s also quite portable for its size and provides a full HD display with a standard refresh rate, making it a solid choice for everyday tasks. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook 16X, while more expensive, provides superior performance with a more powerful processor and dedicated graphics card, making it suitable for 3D rendering, machine learning, engineering, and gaming. The Vivobook 16X also boasts a higher refresh rate display for smoother visuals, a better battery capacity, and more vibrant colors, but it has a shorter battery life, reflecting its power. Both have similar storage and ample screen size, but the Vivobook 16X has the edge in screen quality and performance. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook 16X has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a basic display with adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming, but it falls short for engineering and gaming due to limited color coverage and low refresh rates. The ASUS Vivobook 16X, with better color accuracy and range, suits engineering and design work that requires more precise color representation, while still maintaining a good level of brightness and resolution for typical use. However, both laptops' screens lack the high refresh rates needed for smooth motion in gaming and 3D applications, which can be a major drawback for users focused on those activities.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the ASUS Vivobook 16X compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."
