The ASUS Vivobook 16X offers high performance suitable for intensive tasks such as 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering due to its powerful processor and graphics card. However, it is heavier, more expensive, and has shorter battery life compared to the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14, which is more budget-friendly, lighter, and offers longer battery life for general use, making it a better option for portability. The Vivobook has a larger, higher-refresh-rate screen without touch capability, while the Aspire has a smaller touchscreen but with lower performance specifications. Choose the ASUS for performance-intensive tasks and the Acer for everyday usage with greater portability and affordability. Give Feedback

The ASUS Vivobook 16X is good for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X offers a superior gaming and 3D experience thanks to its powerful Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card and a high 120Hz screen refresh rate, which makes for smoother visuals in fast-paced games. In contrast, the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is equipped with a less capable Intel UHD Graphics Xe and a standard 60Hz refresh rate, providing a fair experience but not as immersive or rich in visual detail.

The ASUS Vivobook 16X is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The ASUS Vivobook 16X is more suitable for engineering and design due to its higher-end CPU and GPU, double the RAM, and a larger, higher refresh rate screen that showcases vivid colors and sharper images, which can handle intensive tasks and detailed visual work more effectively than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14, which has a lower-tier CPU and GPU, less RAM, and a smaller screen with lower color accuracy and brightness. However, the Acer model is more portable with fewer pounds and boasts a silent, fanless operation which could be advantageous for on-the-go use and in environments where noise is a concern.

The ASUS Vivobook 16X has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 has a display that provides adequate resolution and brightness for daily tasks like browsing and office applications but falls short in color accuracy and refresh rates, making it less suitable for color-intensive engineering work and far from ideal for gaming, where smooth motion is critical. The ASUS Vivobook 16X, with its superior color coverage and higher brightness, improves the visual experience in design applications and engineering software that rely on precise color representation, but like the Acer, it doesn't offer the high refresh rates gamers need for fluid gameplay. For both laptops, the lack of high refresh rates means that while they may handle general use and engineering tasks well, they're not optimized for the demands of fast-paced 3D gaming environments.

How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the ASUS Vivobook 16X compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"I think the ASUS Vivobook 16X is fantastic. Great performance, decent battery life, good keyboard and trackpad, and a massive screen – just that the screen quality itself is kinda subpar. If you’re okay with the screen, then I think this is an okay laptop. However, I’d like to see a price drop."
