If performance is the top priority, especially for tasks like engineering or 3D work, the Apple MacBook Pro 13 with its M1 chip offers significantly better capabilities. The MacBook also leads in build quality and battery life, lasting about twice as long as the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 on a single charge. However, it comes with a higher price. The Acer is more budget-friendly and still suitable for general use. Despite being less powerful, it has a larger screen and is touch-enabled. "The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."

"The MacBook Pro 13 is still a very good subnotebook. The 2022 MacBook Pro 13 might look like recycling at first, because the device is completely identical to the old model expect for the new M2 SoC. We have to admit that we were surprised to see another iteration of the MBP 13 as well. The laptop is obviously familiar, but this does not change the fact that it is still a very good subnotebook. You get an excellent chassis with good stability, a very good display, good input devices and the new M2 chip is very powerful and efficient."
