The Hisense U7H is a more budget-friendly option, often significantly less expensive. It offers good overall picture quality, performs well for gaming, and has decent performance in bright rooms; however, it has limitations when it comes to viewing sports content and quality control or consistency.
On the other hand, the TCL QM8 is priced in the midrange and typically costs more than the Hisense U7H. It has superior overall picture quality and bright room performance, excels in gaming, and is great for watching cartoons and animations. It also offers a slightly better dark room performance and a more consistent product due to a higher quality control score. The TCL QM8 also has advanced accessibility features like voice commands and produces a substantially louder sound, which could be beneficial if you're not planning to use an external sound system.
If your budget allows for a higher-priced option and you prioritize a better all-around performance, particularly in well-lit environments, then the TCL QM8 may be the better choice. However, if you're looking to save money and still enjoy good quality pictures and gaming experience, the Hisense U7H would be a solid choice, particularly in less demanding lighting conditions. How the Hisense U7H (LCD) and the TCL QM8 (LCD) compare to other TVs
"We loved the Hisense U7H. It was able to deliver an excellent all-around image quality in its price range. The TV excels at controlling its backlighting in a way that ensures you’ll never experience blooming to a level of being distracting, something that I was a little surprised to see given the lack of Mini LED. The TV doesn’t just get decently bright it offers relatively accurate color reproduction for a TV in this price range. The TV is being billed excellent for gaming."

About Hisense
Hisense, a Chinese TV manufacturer, entered the US market in approximately 2011 and has since acquired TV divisions from various companies such as Toshiba, Sharp, Hitachi, and NEC. Currently ranking as the fourth largest vendor in terms of sales volume, Hisense aims to capture a wide range of TV budget segments. They offer exceptional value with TVs that often outperform their competitors at similar price points, making them a compelling choice for consumers. In the US, they use Google TV as their smart TV software which provides the largest app selection and a very modern user interface, however it is not as user friendly as the software from other vendors.
About TCL
TCL, the highly recognizable TV brand from China, has firmly established itself as the second-largest manufacturer in terms of sales volume. Renowned for striking an impressive balance between affordability, picture quality, and design, TCL TVs deliver a compelling overall package. While they have traditionally excelled in the low-end and midrange TV segments, TCL has recently made remarkable strides in the realm of high-end televisions, introducing impressive models that rival top competitors. Most TCL TVs use Roku software which is very user friendly and easy to use, but they have a few other models that use Google TV which has the largest app selection, but is not as user friendly as Roku.
