The LG Gram 17 is lightweight and has a large 17-inch screen with better battery life, making it suitable for general use and carrying around, while its moderate integrated graphics are less ideal for heavy 3D tasks or engineering software. The MSI GP66 Leopard is heavier but packs a powerful discrete Nvidia graphics card, superior for gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering applications; however, its battery life is shorter. Both laptops are similarly priced, so choose the LG Gram 17 for portability and everyday tasks or the MSI GP66 Leopard for performance-heavy activities at the cost of portability and battery life. The LG Gram 17 has a better screen than the MSI GP66 Leopard for engineering and design, software development, and content creation, while the MSI GP66 Leopard has a better screen for gaming and AI.
For general use, the LG Gram 17's larger screen offers a spacious, high-resolution display which is bright and uses a panel type that provides wide viewing angles, making it suitable for everyday tasks and media consumption. In engineering and design, although the color accuracy and coverage of professional color gamuts are crucial, the LG Gram 17 may fall short for experts needing the highest fidelity for color work. With gaming and 3D applications prioritizing smooth motion, the MSI GP66 Leopard's higher refresh rate is an advantage, but both laptops may not deliver the optimal experience for fast-paced visuals due to their inadequate refresh rates for high-level gaming.

How the LG Gram 17 and the MSI GP66 Leopard compare to other laptops
"The LG Gram 17 is a light office laptop with a large display and great battery life. The newest incarnation of the Gram 17 can be classified as a model update. LG uses the predecessor's compact, light magnesium case along with an identical port configuration (including 2x Thunderbolt 4) and keyboard. Changes can be found in the hardware. With the Gram 17 (2022), LG offers a light (approx. 1,350 g), mobile work device - and finally with a matte display."
"The MSI GP66 Leopard is a good budget high-performance gamer. The MSI also does a lot right outside of the pure performance despite it's low price. For example, the adaptive cooling system really surprised us positively, even in Extreme Performance Mode. And the display is not a budget panel either, but at least outshines the competition in terms of brightness. Of course, you also have to accept a few compromises in this price category. These include the Leopard's poor battery runtimes and the less than optimal build quality, which is also noticeable in the more complicated maintenance."
