The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" generally costs less than the IdeaPad 1 15", has a better battery life, and better general use performance. It's also slightly more portable. In contrast, the IdeaPad 1 15" has more RAM, which might be beneficial for multitasking and more intensive tasks, but it trades off battery life and costs more. Both have similar screen size and quality, and neither is ideal for intensive gaming. If your work demands heavy multitasking or intensive tasks and budget is less of a concern, the IdeaPad 1 could be suitable. Otherwise, for general use and better value, the IdeaPad 5 is a strong choice. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" for general use.
For general use, the screen quality of both IdeaPad 1 and 5 is sufficient due to their adequate resolution and brightness, but they may not have the high-end panel types that provide better viewing angles and color reproduction. In engineering and design, the importance of accurate colors means that while the fairness of the display on both models will suffice for less demanding tasks, professionals may find the color gamuts lacking for precision work. With gaming and 3D applications, the lower refresh rates on these models may lead to less smooth visuals, although they can handle basic requirements; dedicated gaming laptops would be preferable for a more immersive experience.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" and Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" are both only fair for gaming and AI.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 and IdeaPad 5 both offer fair performance in gaming and 3D tasks as they share similar GPUs and have standard screen refresh rates, which are sufficient for moderate gaming but not ideal for high-level gaming that benefits from faster refresh rates and more powerful graphics. Their CPUs, also alike, provide competent processing power, while the screen quality of both with their IPS panels and standard resolution supports decent visual clarity, but they don't excel in the color accuracy or contrast that professionals or demanding gaming scenarios might require.

How the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" and the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15" compare to other laptops
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 1 15" is affordable and pretty efficient. At the end of the day, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 (15″, 2023) is one of the better affordable laptops money can buy right now. It has a decent performance, albeit coming from a CPU that is based on old architecture. Playing low-intensity games is possible but at low to medium settings. We are really happy with the cooling setup, but the main event here is the battery life. We got 9 hours of either Web browsing or video playback, which is a great result. Especially if you compare this device with the ASUS E410."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 is convincing due to its long battery life. The device scores points especially with its large battery and long battery runtimes combined with its low consumption. The CPU and GPU perform in the test as one would expect, and in line with what was familiar from the somewhat smaller 14-inch sister model, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14."
