The Lenovo Legion Slim 5i has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, a laptop with a high-resolution, bright display, and an IPS panel, like the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i, ensures crisp text and vibrant viewing, making it very good, while the HP Victus 15's decent resolution and brightness provide a good but less exceptional experience. In engineering and design, accurate color reproduction is essential, and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i with its better color gamuts offers more precise colors, making it suitable for such tasks, whereas the HP Victus 15 falls short with fair color accuracy. For gaming and 3D applications, where smooth motion is crucial, the refresh rate becomes critical, and both the HP Victus 15 and Lenovo Legion Slim 5i have lower refresh rates, leading to a poor experience in this aspect.

How the HP Victus 15 and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5i compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
