The HP Victus 15 is generally less expensive and might be a good choice if you're on a budget and need a laptop capable of casual gaming and everyday tasks, with fair battery life and portable design. The Lenovo Legion 5, on the other hand, is somewhat pricier but offers better performance for more demanding tasks like 3D work, machine learning, or high-end gaming thanks to its stronger processor and graphics card. It also features a higher resolution screen which is great for media consumption but translates to slightly less battery life and a bit more weight, making it less portable than the HP. Choose the HP Victus 15 for value and portability or the Lenovo Legion 5 for enhanced performance and display quality, keeping in mind the higher cost and lower portability. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion 5 15" is very good for engineering and design, while the HP Victus 15 is only fair.
The Lenovo Legion 5 15" stands out for engineering and design due to its more powerful Ryzen 7 processor, double the RAM, and a superior RTX 4060 GPU, which together provide faster and smoother performance for demanding software used in these fields. On the other hand, the HP Victus 15, with its i5 processor and RTX 3050 GPU, offers solid capabilities for less intensive tasks, and its screen quality, with lower resolution but a high contrast ratio, renders good visuals for design work.

The Lenovo Legion 5 15" has a better screen than the HP Victus 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The HP Victus 15's screen offers adequate clarity and brightness suitable for everyday tasks such as browsing and document editing, but its limited color range and lower resolution restrict its effectiveness for detailed engineering work and make it less immersive for gaming and 3D applications. The Lenovo Legion 5 15" provides a sharper and brighter display which enhances the user experience in general use and presents colors more accurately for engineering and design, but its standard refresh rate could detract from the smooth visuals desired in fast-paced 3D environments. For gaming and 3D work, where fast motion is common, neither laptop excels due to their poor refresh rates, potentially leading to less fluid on-screen motion.

How the HP Victus 15 and the Lenovo Legion 5 15" compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"The Lenovo Legion 5 15 is an affordable gaming laptop with a lot of power. The new AMD processor Ryzen 7 5800H offers plenty of performance and it is also very efficient. The combination with the fast 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3060 ensures high gaming performance. We also like the fast 165 Hz display with the 1080p resolution. The automatic graphics switching causes some problems with stutters, which are very annoying. If you do not need long battery runtimes, you should definitely deactivate the hybrid graphics mode in Lenovo's Vantage app. The Legion 5 15 is never silent."
