If you prioritize a more powerful CPU and better integrated graphics for general use and light gaming at a higher cost with lighter weight for easier portability, then the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i may suit you. It also has a longer battery life which is beneficial if you're often on the move. However, if your focus is on more graphically demanding tasks like 3D applications or gaming, and you prefer a dedicated graphics card, you should opt for the HP Victus 15, which also comes at a somewhat lower price point but is heavier and thicker, therefore less portable, with a shorter battery life. The HP Victus 15 has a better screen than the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i for gaming and AI, while the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i has a better screen for engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The HP Victus 15 offers sufficient resolution and brightness, making it suitable for everyday tasks, but its limited color gamut doesn't support the nuanced color requirements for engineering and design, and its lower refresh rate hampers the smooth visuals critical for immersive gaming and 3D applications. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i's display provides not only the necessary resolution and brightness for general use but also covers a wider color gamut, essential for accurate color representation in design work, although it shares the HP's drawback of a modest refresh rate, detracting from the experience in fast-paced games and 3D rendering. Both laptops, while capable for typical use and professional creativity, would not satisfy gamers and 3D professionals seeking fluid motion and high responsiveness.

The HP Victus 15 and Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i are both only fair for gaming and AI.

How the HP Victus 15 and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7i compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
"Among Lenovo's multiple laptop brands, the IdeaPad family is decidedly the one designed for consumers: people who want decent performance at a reasonable price. Consider, then, this laptop a paragon for the pickier members of that crowd. With a 14-inch touch-enabled display, a comfortable keyboard, an Evo-certified Intel Core i7 11th Generation CPU, and the latest Windows 11 operating system, the IdeaPad Slim 7i Pro ultraportable ($1,199 as tested) is a slick mainstream machine at a bit of a premium price, and quite capable for everyday tasks."
