If you're looking for a budget-friendly option for basic tasks like browsing the web, using office applications, and streaming video, the HP Stream 14" offers great value but with less processing power and graphical performance. On the other hand, the HP Victus 15 is more expensive but it's equipped to handle more demanding activities like graphic design, gaming, and video editing due to its superior processing and graphics capabilities. The HP Stream is also more portable due to its smaller size and likely longer battery life, which is convenient if you travel frequently or need a laptop for on-the-go use. However, if your work or entertainment requires high performance, the extra investment in the HP Victus 15 would be justified. Give Feedback

The HP Victus 15 is good for general use, while the HP Stream 14" is only fair.
The HP Stream 14" offers a lower-tier CPU and graphics, a lower-resolution TN screen which is less sharp and vibrant, but is lighter and thus more portable, with a high portability score. Contrastingly, the HP Victus 15 has a much more powerful CPU and dedicated graphics, a sharper and more color-accurate IPS display, and is considered less portable due to a heavier build but compensates with significantly higher performance for more demanding tasks.

The HP Victus 15 is only fair for engineering and design, while the HP Stream 14" is poor.
The HP Stream 14" is less suitable for engineering and design due to its basic Intel Celeron processor and low-end integrated graphics, while the HP Victus 15 provides better performance with an Intel i5 processor and dedicated Nvidia graphics, as well as a higher quality IPS display. Additionally, the Stream's lower-resolution TN screen and minimal design may hamper multitasking and precision tasks, unlike the Victus's full HD display and gaming-optimized features which suit more demanding engineering software.

The HP Victus 15 has a better screen than the HP Stream 14" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The HP Stream 14" has a lower resolution and less brightness, which makes it less suitable for any sort of detailed work or entertainment where display quality is crucial. With the HP Victus 15, the better screen resolution and brightness enhance the experience for general use and some design tasks, but its limited color range may not satisfy professional engineering and design needs. Additionally, while the HP Victus 15's display might be sufficient for casual gaming, the lack of a high refresh rate limits its ability to provide an optimal experience for 3D gaming where smooth motion is key.

How the HP Stream 14" and the HP Victus 15 compare to other laptops
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The HP Victus 15 is great for gaming. It's available with Intel 12th Gen. CPUs and NVIDIA discrete graphics, which are powerful enough to provide a smooth gaming experience in demanding AAA titles at 1080p. It has a nice keyboard and a fast SSD, as well as Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet connectivity for low-latency online gaming. Unfortunately, its 144Hz display has a slow response time causing noticeable ghosting, and it doesn't support variable refresh rate to reduce screen tearing."
