The HP Spectre x360 offers a versatile 2-in-1 design with a larger screen and better color accuracy, making it ideal for creative work and general use. It has a slightly lower price point and a more robust port selection, including Thunderbolt ports for faster data transfer. However, its gaming and engineering performance may not match the Surface Laptop due to its integrated GPU. On the other hand, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 15" boasts a high-performance CPU and a dedicated GPU, which will serve you well for gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks. It has a unique 3:2 aspect ratio screen that's excellent for productivity and a premium build quality with a business-focused operating system. The Surface Laptop also has a higher refresh rate for smoother visuals and better performance scores across the board, except for screen colors where the HP excels. Consider the HP Spectre x360 if you prioritize versatility, a larger display with superior color reproduction, and a more comprehensive set of ports, especially if you're not heavily into gaming or intensive engineering tasks. Opt for the Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 15" if you need a powerful machine for demanding applications, value a high refresh rate and build quality, and are willing to pay a bit more for those premium features. PCMag

Eric Grevstad | August 2022
"As we said, Lenovo's Yoga 9i is a tough competitor to the Spectre with an equally admirable OLED display. We're sad that neither of them has an HDMI port nor a niche or slot to hold the stylus, though the HP wins points for its bundled mini docking station and magnetically attached pen. Your choice will come down to screen shape—and in our eyes, just as seeing an OLED screen spoils you for an IPS panel, enjoying a tall 3:2 display spoils you for a more conventional view. The HP Spectre x360 13.5 is our new favorite 2-in-1."
