The HP Spectre x360 is less expensive and offers good general performance with a touch-enabled, high resolution display suitable for general use, creative tasks, and light to moderate engineering work. It's relatively portable, with a solid build quality and battery life that supports typical usage quite well.
On the other hand, the MSI Stealth GS77, while more expensive, provides significantly increased performance that's well-suited for intensive 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering uses. It has a larger, faster-refreshing screen and dedicated graphics for gaming or GPU-accelerated tasks, but this comes at the cost of reduced portability due to its greater weight and shorter battery life. How the HP Spectre x360 and the MSI Stealth GS77 compare to other laptops
"As we said, Lenovo's Yoga 9i is a tough competitor to the Spectre with an equally admirable OLED display. We're sad that neither of them has an HDMI port nor a niche or slot to hold the stylus, though the HP wins points for its bundled mini docking station and magnetically attached pen. Your choice will come down to screen shape—and in our eyes, just as seeing an OLED screen spoils you for an IPS panel, enjoying a tall 3:2 display spoils you for a more conventional view. The HP Spectre x360 13.5 is our new favorite 2-in-1."
"The MSI Stealth GS77 is better than the GS76... mostly. The GS77 is a few steps forward and a few steps back from the GS76. Improvements are numerous including the stronger and more rigid skeleton, higher resolution webcam, larger clickpad, easier serviceability, relatively similar battery runtimes, newer display options, and higher performance at about the same TDP and TGP levels as before. CPU performance is better than expected even when compared to other laptops with Core i7 or Core i9 processors. The newer model feels more substantial than the outgoing one for higher quality impressions as well."
